مہدی جواہری اور فیض احمد فیض کی شاعری کی چند مشترکہ جہات کا تقابلی جائزہ
Literature depicts those aspects and characteristics of the universe along with its creatures that are generally overlooked or disregarded. The poetry particularly focuses on these aspects and presents them in an enchanting way. That is why poetry is considered to be the most effective mode of expression in literature.
This article provides a comparative overview of some common aspects of the poetry of two great 19th century poets, ‘Mehdi Jawahiri’- born in 1900 C.E in Najaf (Iraq) and Faiz Ahmed Faiz- who opened his eyes in Narowal (Pakistan) in 1911 C.E. Mehdi Jawahari is a famous Arabic poet who is known as “The Greatest Poet of Iraq”. On the other side, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, the well-known Urdu poet is considered as one of the greatest poets in Pakistan after Allama Muhammad Iqbal. This article provides a comparative overview of some of the commonalities in the poetry of these two poets. In preface, this article describes the short life circumstances of Jawhari and Faiz and then discusses some common themes of the poetry of the two poets, like elegy (Marthiya), society and humanity. Both the poets have some common and different views regarding these themes that have been discussed in this article.
